Our Family's Home

The house is staged, appraised, and on the market. It is time for a new family to love this place as much as we have. We will miss this place - the beautiful views, the quiet solitude, and the wonderful memories of time spent here.   Onward and forward!

                                                                1998-2016
New front door installed May, 2016  Also in 2016, we installed new Anderson windows, new bamboo flooring, new light fixtures.

Many days and nights enjoying amazing views of Little Bay de Noc on Lake Michigan.

Eagles, bobcats, and coyotes caught on our trail cam in our side yard.  We watched these out our kitchen window.

Gary put up this 36' x 48' pole barn with 12 foot doors almost completely by himself.  I couldn't watch as he put the rafters up without the help of a crane.

This huge recreation room was filled with furniture and many family memories.

Schutz's School Calendar

I shared this calendar with a friend who said this should be a post on my blog.  Notice that my new work week, and thus the kiddo's school week, will be Sunday-Thursday. Notice also that this school calendar takes into account Muslim, Christian, and Coptic Christian holidays. Other than that, it is not too different from Gladstone's school calendar.  We are already trying to decide what to do September 9-17 for Eid al-Fitr.  It has been suggested that we plan a vacation to Sharm el-Shiekh, a resort town on the Red Sea, where the diving is said to be some of the best in the world.  Felucca rides on the Nile are also recommended - but we will probably wait until we can get advice from those at the school who have been in Egypt awhile before we book our trip for that week. Besides, it seems to me that it might be a good time to go somewhere a little further away, and further north since we have over a week off and the weather would still be nice in places like Sweden and Germany -  and save the "inside Egypt" trips for our weekends - but who knows!  There are so many places we'd love to see and we just feel so fortunate that we will now be able to see places we only dreamed about.

Blogger help

I am one who has tried to follow blogs in the past, but I could never remember the name of the blog or blog address to go back and find the same blog twice.  If you already know how to "save" blogs using your Google Apps, then this is not for you.  But, I was so impressed at the ease of this feature, that I thought I would share.

To save (and find) blogs again - and to even get an email when your favorite blog has been updated:

1) Be sure you are using Google and have a gmail account.
2) Open a new tab and look at the right-hand upper corner of your page to find the square made of 9 little squares. Click on it to see a drop-down menu.
3) Click on "MORE" at the bottom of the menu.
4) Find the app that says "BLOGGER" and click on it. This should bring you to a page that says Reading List - "Add". Click on Add
5) If you want to save this blog, copy and paste the URL address above into the space it gives you.  It should show up as a new blog on the side of your page.
6) Do the same for any other blog you want to save.  You can now go back to this app at any time and find the blogs you want to read, or add new ones.
7) As an added bonus, you can get email alerts when your favorite blogs have been update.

Let me know if this works for you or if you have any questions!
